Fatal Lexington shooting death of Maykel Farinas Carballo – Obituary

Lexington police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting as 40-year-old Maykel Farinas Carballo.

The incident occurred late on January 21, 2025, at around 10:45 p.m. when officers responded to a verbal altercation in the area of Cypress Lane.

Upon arrival, they discovered a silver vehicle stalled in the front yard of a home, with Carballo found dead inside, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The windshield and front of the vehicle were marked by numerous bullet holes.

 

Following an investigation, 33-year-old Aristh Rodriguez Linares was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.

Linares is being held without bail in the Dawson County Jail. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
