Fatal Davidson County assault death of Juana Gomez – Obituary
Juana Gomez, a 39-year-old woman from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was found dead on Saturday in a field in Davidson County.
Authorities reported that she had been assaulted and murdered before her body was discarded in the field.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 56-year-old James Brewton, who has been charged with first-degree murder. Brewton and Gomez were known to each other.
He is currently being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
