Authorities in St. Cloud, Minnesota, are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Layson Davis and left another victim critically injured.
The St. Cloud Police Department responded to an apartment complex around 3 a.m. on Sunday, February 2, following reports of gunfire inside the building. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old man from St. Joseph in the first-floor hallway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Cloud Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Davis was found in the stairwell with a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the individuals involved were acquainted before the incident, ruling out the possibility of a random attack. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
