Fatal Grant shooting death of Dawson Bostic – Obituary

Authorities are investigating the shooting death of 21-year-old Dawson Bostic, who was fatally wounded in Grant, Oklahoma, on Monday evening. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) was called in by the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office to assist with the case.

Deputies responded to a home near North Ervin Street and East Locust Avenue around 5:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they administered life-saving measures before Bostic was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

During the course of the investigation, OSBI agents identified 21-year-old Rickey Johnson as the suspect. Johnson was taken into custody and booked into the Choctaw County Jail. Charges against him are still pending as authorities continue gathering evidence.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
