Fatal Dorchester County head-on crash death of Cooper Stewart – Obituary
The Dorchester County Coroner has identified 24-year-old Cooper Stewart of Summerville as the victim in a tragic head-on collision on Wednesday. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Orangeburg Road, approximately two miles west of Summerville.
Authorities reported that the crash involved a 2023 Ford Transit Van traveling east and a 2023 Kia Sedan traveling west. At the intersection of Orangeburg Road and Hudson Place, the two vehicles collided head-on, sending both into a ditch. Stewart, the driver of the Kia, died at the scene, while the driver of the Ford was transported to Trident Medical Center for medical care. The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
