Fatal Reno pedestrian crash death of David E. Vigil – Obituary

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified 61-year-old David E. Vigil as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Kietzke Lane and Moana Lane in Reno.

Emergency crews responded to the scene just before 9 p.m. on February 6 after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Vigil suffered critical injuries and was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials determined that his cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, which involved an SUV. The incident has been ruled accidental. Authorities noted that speed and impairment were not considered factors in the collision.

The Reno Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
