Fatal Lincoln crash death of Rico Benavidez – Obituary
Parker Durham, a 28-year-old man, has been ticketed for reckless driving following a fatal crash on August 2024. The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on W. Denton Road between 1st and S. Folsom in Lincoln.
Durham, who was driving at high speed, swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian but struck another individual, identified as 25-year-old Rico Benavidez.
Benavidez was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators found that Durham was traveling at speeds of at least 81 mph in a 45 mph zone, which, combined with the hazardous conditions in the area, led to the reckless driving charge.
