Fatal Linn County ice fishing accident death of Brian Thomas – Obituary
A tragic ice fishing incident in Linn County claimed the life of 46-year-old Brian Thomas of Marion on Thursday.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported that Thomas was pulled from a lake near Chain Lake Road just before 2:45 p.m. He was found unconscious in the water and was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His body has been sent for an official autopsy.
Two other individuals, 67-year-old David Thomas of Marion and 66-year-old Brad Holsinger of Walker, survived the incident. Both were treated for hypothermia, though there is no update on their current condition.
