Fatal Lake Bluff car crash death of Britney Perez – Obituary
Britney Perez, a 20-year-old Northwestern University student from Evanston, Illinois, tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on February 23, 2025, shortly before 5 a.m.
The accident took place on northbound Route 41, just south of Route 176, when one car was traveling south in the northbound lanes and collided head-on with Perez’s vehicle. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but Perez was pronounced dead from blunt force injuries.
Perez, originally from Texas, was a student at Northwestern and had been living in Evanston. The other driver, who sustained significant injuries, was transported to a nearby hospital.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating the incident, and no charges have been announced as of yet.
