Angelica Bryan dies in fatal Itasca County crash
Fatal Itasca County crash death of Angelica Bryan – Obituary
Authorities have confirmed that 13-year-old Angelica Bryan of Cass Lake was the individual killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred during a police pursuit in Itasca County, Minnesota.
The incident began early Sunday morning, April 20, around 1:30 a.m., when deputies from the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop a vehicle traveling without headlights near County Road 63 and County Road 271. Upon activating their emergency lights, the driver—later identified as Bryan—refused to stop and accelerated, reaching speeds nearing 90 mph.
Despite attempts by the Minnesota State Patrol to stop the vehicle using tire-deflation devices, the pursuit continued. Bryan, still driving without headlights, eventually veered off the road near County Road 11 and collided with a tree.
She was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Cohasset earlier that evening.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is currently handling the investigation into the crash and circumstances surrounding the pursuit.
