Fatal Anderson head-on crash death of Mikhail Cherkasov – Obituary

Authorities in Anderson County, South Carolina, have identified the victims of a deadly head-on collision that occurred early Wednesday morning. One of the drivers killed was 57-year-old Mikhail Cherkasov of Honea Path.

 

The crash took place around 2:30 a.m. on Highway 29 North near Cox Road, when a Honda sedan traveling southbound was struck head-on by an SUV coming from the opposite direction. Both drivers died at the scene.

 

The second victim was identified as 24-year-old Dennis Linvel Vollrath, who was driving the SUV. Emergency responders and investigators from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.

 

Further information is expected as the investigation continues into what led to the fatal crash.
