Fatal Santa Maria, CA motorcycle crash death of Philip Wesley Leonard – Obituary
Philip Wesley Leonard, a 78-year-old resident of Santa Maria, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on April 16. Leonard, traveling west on Main Street, attempted to make a right turn onto the northbound US 101 on-ramp while the light was red, colliding with the passenger side of a bus that had the green signal.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
