Fatal Clovis shooting death of Caleb Quick – Obituary

An 18-year-old Clovis teen, Caleb Quick, was fatally shot in the McDonald’s parking lot at Willow and Nees avenues on the evening of April 23, 2025. According to Clovis police, officers responded to the scene just before 9 p.m., where they found Quick suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity the following morning.

 

Quick, a senior at Clovis Online School, a charter school unaffiliated with any high school campus, previously attended Buchanan High School. In the wake of his tragic death, Clovis Unified School District expressed its sorrow, offering support to students and families affected by the incident. The district emphasized the availability of emotional wellness resources and added extra security measures at school campuses.

 

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting, with the suspect described as wearing black clothing and a pullover hoodie. The individual reportedly fled the scene on foot, carrying a firearm. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Clovis Police Department or Valley Crime Stoppers.

 

A local church, Clovis Hills Community Church, has also opened an area for prayer and counseling for anyone impacted by the event.
