Fatal Charleston County road rage shooting death of Kristoffer Wilson – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that 50-year-old Kristoffer Wilson, a resident of Summerville, lost his life Thursday following a road rage incident that escalated into gunfire in Charleston County.

 

The confrontation occurred near the intersection of Ingleside Drive and Zeppelin Drive, where Elliott Antoin Huggins allegedly approached Wilson, accusing him of reckless driving. Witnesses say Huggins threw a cup of coffee at Wilson’s vehicle before the situation worsened. During the altercation, Wilson reportedly grabbed the side mirror of Huggins’ car, at which point Huggins fired a shot that struck Wilson in the chest.

 

Emergency responders found Wilson lying in the road and transported him to Trident Medical Center. He was pronounced dead shortly after noon.

 

Huggins was initially arrested on attempted murder charges, but those charges were upgraded to murder following Wilson’s death. He also faces a charge for possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. As of now, a bond has not been set.

 

The incident has stirred concern in the North Charleston area, where community members are grappling with the tragic outcome of an everyday traffic dispute turning lethal.
