Authorities have confirmed the identity of the driver who died in a tragic multi-vehicle collision on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights. Edwin B. Coreas, 30, of Bogota, tragically lost his life in the crash that occurred around 6:20 p.m. on March 6, 2025.
Coreas was behind the wheel of an Isuzu box truck when he collided with another vehicle, sparking a chain reaction that involved two additional cars. Coreas was pronounced dead at the scene. Several individuals from the other vehicles were taken to the hospital with various injuries, though the specifics of their conditions remain unclear.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has indicated that no criminal charges are expected, but the investigation into the incident continues.
