Fatal Mooreland, Indiana car crash death of Nicholas Norris – Obituary
Authorities in Henry County are investigating the death of 18-year-old Nicholas Norris, who was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning near Mooreland, Indiana.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on April 27 in the 9000 block of East County Road 450 North, about 13 miles northeast of New Castle. When deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they found a Jeep that had veered off the road, collided with several trees, and overturned at least once.
Deputies then discovered Nicholas Norris lying unresponsive in the roadway. According to Sheriff John Sproles, Norris was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.
Investigators believe that both high speed and alcohol contributed to the tragic crash. Sheriff Sproles extended his condolences, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Nicholas Norris.”
