Fatal Cumberland City ferry car crash death of Wesley Robson – Obituary

Wesley Robson, 79, has been identified by the Tennessee Highway Patrol as the man who lost his life after driving off a ferry in Cumberland City.

Authorities reported that Robson was heading north along Cumberland City Road on Friday afternoon when he boarded the Cumberland City Ferry and collided with the ferry’s rear gate. Following the impact, his vehicle plunged into the Cumberland River.

The Tennessee Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the ferry’s gates were securely closed at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the surrounding area was shut down for several hours as recovery efforts were underway.

Robson was pronounced dead after the incident.
