Fatal Gloucester County crash deaths of Brenden Cary and Dominic Reyes – Obituary
Brenden Cary, a high school student, and Dominic Reyes, a 19-year-old recent graduate, lost their lives in a crash on Route 55 in Gloucester County, New Jersey, on Sunday, according to school district officials and law enforcement.
New Jersey State Police reported that the crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. near Exit 48 in Glassboro. Cary was driving a Honda passenger vehicle when it struck the rear left corner of a Honda CRV traveling ahead in the right lane. The impact caused Cary to lose control, veering into the shoulder, where his vehicle collided with a stopped Dodge minivan. The van overturned due to the crash.
Three juvenile passengers in the Dodge sustained minor injuries, while the 36-year-old driver suffered serious injuries. A 17-year-old passenger in Cary’s vehicle was also seriously hurt.
Emergency responders initially reported that at least eight individuals were injured, with victims ranging from children to adults. The road remained closed for several hours before reopening around 8 p.m.
New Jersey State Police continue to investigate the crash.
