Fatal Sarasota shooting death of Sambo Ung – Obituary
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a deadly shooting that happened Saturday night on Hammock Place in Sarasota. Deputies were dispatched after receiving reports of gunfire during a house party.
When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot. Sadly, Sambo Ung, a Sarasota resident, died at the scene from his injuries.
Another man, Tony J. Register, also from Sarasota, was wounded and is being treated at a medical facility. Authorities have not yet released details regarding his condition.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section have spent the weekend combing through the area, gathering evidence, and securing witness statements. They are also analyzing video footage from nearby surveillance cameras in an attempt to identify and question those who attended the gathering.
