Fatal Merced County party shooting death of Carlos Ramirez Chaidez – Obituary

A 17-year-old named Carlos Ramirez Chaidez was fatally shot during a party in Winton, California, on Sunday.

The shooting occurred around midnight on Gertrude Avenue near North Winton Way. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Chaidez and two other individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Chaidez, who had been shot in the thigh, was treated with a tourniquet until paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Witnesses reported hearing gang-related slurs before the shooting, leading investigators to believe the incident may be gang-related. The Merced County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to come forward.
