Alan Higginbotham dies after being struck by vehicle on Okeechobee Boulevard

Fatal West Palm Beach pedestrian death of Alan Higginbotham – Obituary.

Alan Higginbotham, 62, from West Palm Beach, tragically lost his life on April 21, 2025, after being struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck while crossing Okeechobee Boulevard near Vista Parkway.

The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m., as Higginbotham was walking outside of a crosswalk and was hit by the passenger-side mirror of the vehicle driven by Mathew Jay Holcomb, 49, also of West Palm Beach.

The force of the collision caused Higginbotham to be thrown into the eastbound lane. Holcomb stopped his truck and waited for authorities. Higginbotham was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly before 11:40 p.m. No charges have been filed, and alcohol or drugs are not considered factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
