Fatal Concord Township crash death of Dora B. Hovis – Obituary
State police have confirmed the identity of the woman who tragically lost her life in a head-on collision on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Concord Township. Dora B. Hovis, 48, from St. Petersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Route 38, just north of its intersection with Rider Road.
According to the state police report, Hovis was a passenger in a Honda CR-V driven by Ronald A. Hovis, 67, also of St. Petersburg. The vehicle was struck by a Cadillac SRX, driven by 34-year-old Diane T. Schomburger of Allison Park. The collision occurred when Schomburger’s vehicle veered into the opposite lane, and despite efforts by Ronald Hovis to swerve out of the way, the Cadillac collided head-on with the Honda.
Schomburger was airlifted to Presbyterian Hospital, while Ronald Hovis was flown to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment. The crash involved a total of three vehicles, and emergency crews from several local agencies responded to the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident, and both vehicles were towed from the site. The community is mourning the loss of Dora Hovis as the investigation proceeds.
