Fatal West Palm Beach sword attack and deputy-involved shooting death of Alfonzo and Tyrone Riser – Obituary

Authorities have identified the two men involved in a deadly domestic violence confrontation that led to a deputy-involved shooting early on Saturday morning in West Palm Beach. Alfonzo Riser, 52, and his 20-year-old son Tyrone Riser both died following the incident that occurred at a residence on Emerald Dunes Drive just after 3 a.m.

 

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after reports of a domestic violence disturbance. Deputies discovered Tyrone attacking his father with a sword inside the home. Despite commands to drop the weapon, Tyrone refused, prompting a deputy to open fire. Both individuals received medical assistance but ultimately succumbed to their injuries.

 

The deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation, as per department protocol. The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are currently investigating the incident.
