Authorities have confirmed that 33-year-old Ariona “Ari” Jackson lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley on March 8, 2025.
The incident took place near Savage Lane around 6:49 p.m. as Jackson attempted to cross the road. She was hit by a red Mazda 6 driven by a 20-year-old woman from Apple Valley. Officials stated that Jackson was fleeing from a shoplifting incident at Tractor Supply at the time.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported Jackson to a nearby hospital before she was airlifted to a trauma center. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Jackson’s passing has deeply impacted her loved ones, who have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses. The fundraiser, titled “Support Ari’s Family After Tragic Loss,” describes her as a caring and loving person who brought joy to those around her.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is handling the case, and authorities are asking witnesses to come forward with any relevant information.
