Nicole Moncrief, 39, tragically lost her life on Tuesday morning after being struck by a train in Abilene, Texas. The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of N 1st Street and Willis Street.

Police reports state that Moncrief had been driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of N 1st Street before pulling into a business parking lot. Witnesses said she exited her vehicle and ran onto the tracks, where she was struck by an oncoming train.

This marks the third fatality on Abilene’s train tracks in the past month. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and stay alert near train crossings.
