Fatal Osceola County Highway 441 crash death of Pragathi Reddy, Sunitha Purumandla, and Harveen Purumandla – Obituary.
Three individuals tragically lost their lives in a collision on Highway 441 in Osceola County on Sunday afternoon. The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that the victims are 34-year-old Pragathi Reddy, 54-year-old Sunitha Purumandla, and 5-year-old Harveen Purumandla.
FHP Public Information Officer Migdalisis Garcia expressed the emotional toll of the incident, particularly the loss of a young child. Garcia explained that Highway 441 is a frequently used and busy route connecting Central and South Florida.
According to a statement from FHP, an F-150 truck was driving south in the northbound lane of Highway 441 when it collided head-on with the victims’ vehicle. The impact caused their car to veer off the road and roll over. Garcia noted that a variety of factors could contribute to wrong-way crashes, such as distractions, unfamiliarity with the area, impairment, or drowsiness.
The truck’s driver, a 30-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A 34-year-old man and a 9-month-old infant, who were also in the victims’ car, sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have not yet determined if speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
