Fatal Suitland domestic-related homicide death of Sherron Turner – Obituary

Sherron Turner, 44, was discovered dead in her Suitland, Maryland apartment, her body wrapped in plastic and partially encased in concrete, following what authorities are calling a domestic-related murder. Her boyfriend, 38-year-old Michael McClanahan, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, along with an additional charge related to attempting to conceal her remains.

The Prince George’s County Police Department was dispatched to the home on April 24 for a welfare check. Officers located Turner’s body inside the apartment. A medical examiner later confirmed that she died from blunt force injuries.

Before his arrest in connection with Turner’s death, McClanahan was taken into custody on April 25 after allegedly stabbing a man during a confrontation at a Walmart in Washington, D.C. He was caught on surveillance allegedly concealing items and became violent while being detained.

Authorities confirmed that Turner was McClanahan’s girlfriend and said her death resulted from domestic violence. Her family had reported her missing prior to the grim discovery, and a funeral is being planned in Exmore, Virginia.

McClanahan remains in custody at the Central Detention Facility in Washington, D.C., as he awaits extradition to Maryland.
