Fatal Osceola County car crash death of Pragathi Reddy – Obituary

Authorities have identified the three victims who lost their lives in a tragic accident on Highway 441 in Osceola County on Sunday afternoon. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that 34-year-old Pragathi Reddy, 54-year-old Sunitha Purumandla, and 5-year-old Harveen Purumandla were killed in the crash.

“It’s heartbreaking,” said Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Migdalisis Garcia. “Especially when a child as young as five loses their life—it’s a devastating tragedy.”

Highway 441 is known as a heavily traveled route that links Central and South Florida.

According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was driving south in the northbound lane when it collided head-on with the victims’ vehicle. The impact forced their car off the road, causing it to overturn.

“There are several factors that can contribute to a wrong-way crash,” Garcia explained. “It could be distraction, unfamiliarity with the area, impairment, or even fatigue. Any of these could lead to a driver heading in the wrong direction.”

The driver of the F-150, a 30-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Additionally, a 34-year-old man and a 9-month-old baby were in the victims’ vehicle. Both sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities stated that the investigation is still in its early stages, and it remains unclear whether speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
