Fatal Detroit double homicide deaths of Dwayne Pinkston and Barbara Jackson – Obituary

Dwayne Pinkston, 60, and Barbara Jackson, 68, were found murdered inside a Detroit home, leaving their loved ones searching for answers. Their bodies were discovered in the basement of a residence near Fenkell Avenue and Wyoming Avenue around 5:45 p.m. last Tuesday.

According to police, the homeowner left the house for about an hour and returned to find the front door locked. Unable to enter, she climbed through a window and found the two victims inside. Authorities are still working to determine the cause of death, though a firearm was recovered at the scene. While detectives do not believe the case is a murder-suicide, they have not ruled out any possibilities.

Pinkston had reportedly been helping with renovations at the home, as construction materials and new windows were still visible at the scene. His close friend of 40 years, Sabrina Young, expressed her grief and suspicion over his death, saying, “Something ain’t right with that.”

Neighbors described Jackson as a kind member of the community. However, the circumstances surrounding why both victims were at the residence and who is responsible for their deaths remain unclear.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Detroit police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
