Fatal Pulaski County drowning death of Keonta Spencer – Obituary

Keonta Spencer, 22, of North Little Rock, was found dead in the Arkansas River after being reported missing since March 30. His body was identified by authorities on April 22 after being discovered washed up in the town of Scott.

According to police, Spencer had entered the river along with a friend in an attempt to retrieve a drifting boat. Witnesses reported that Spencer drowned during the incident, though his godmother, Kimberly Lawson, has expressed doubts about that account, saying he would never willingly get into the river for a boat that wasn’t his.

The uncertainty surrounding the events has left Spencer’s family with deep emotional pain. Lawson described the anguish of watching Spencer’s mother grieve, stating that the two shared a close and loving bond.

Authorities have yet to release the autopsy results, and the investigation into the circumstances of Spencer’s death remains ongoing.
