Fatal Dayton stabbing death of Ronnie Kyle Wells Jr. – Obituary

Fifty-two-year-old Ronnie Kyle Wells Jr. lost his life following a violent stabbing incident on April 20, 2025, at the Golden Villa apartments located in the 500 block of Scranton Street in Dayton.

Dayton police found Wells suffering from multiple stab wounds when they arrived at the scene. He was taken to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

 

Investigators identified 62-year-old Anthony W. Perkins as the suspect responsible for the fatal attack. Witnesses alleged that Perkins had damaged Wells’ vehicle and punctured the tires. When Wells came outside to confront the situation, Perkins reportedly stabbed him nearly a dozen times.

 

Following the investigation, a Montgomery County grand jury indicted Perkins on two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and one misdemeanor count of criminal damaging. He remains in custody at the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million bond and is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday.
