A single-vehicle accident on Interstate 35E in Burnsville claimed the life of 68-year-old Joseph Ferdinand Bluemke, officials confirmed.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 9:41 a.m. Sunday when Bluemke, driving a Volvo S60, veered off the roadway near Dakota County Road 11. His vehicle went into a ditch, struck a sign, and came to a stop on County Road 11.
Bluemke was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that neither alcohol nor weather conditions contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
