Fatal Allen County car crash death of Kaiya Elle Bontrager – Obituary

Kaiya Elle Bontrager, a 19-year-old from Spencerville, has been identified by the Allen County Coroner’s Office as the person who lost her life in a crash on Indiana 101 on Tuesday morning. Authorities say she died from blunt force trauma, and her death has been ruled accidental.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Indiana 101 North and Campbell Road. According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Bontrager was driving an SUV west on Campbell Road when she failed to yield to a northbound semi-truck traveling on Indiana 101.

Emergency personnel pronounced Bontrager dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

This collision marks the 16th traffic-related fatality in Allen County this year. The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the coroner’s office, and the prosecutor’s office.
