Fatal Ogletown, Delaware pedestrian crash death of Christopher DeFeo – Obituary

Delaware State Police have identified Christopher DeFeo, 48, of Newark, as the pedestrian who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle earlier this week in Ogletown.

The incident occurred on April 28 when a Nissan Altima, traveling north on Salem Church Road just south of Chapman Road, veered off the roadway onto the right shoulder and struck DeFeo. After the collision, the car continued through a grassy area, crashed into a tree, and overturned.

The 18-year-old driver, also from Newark, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led the driver to leave the road, and details such as the vehicle’s speed have not yet been released.
