Christopher Alexander Blackwell, 36, of Sacramento, lost his life following a shooting that took place late Sunday night in the Meadowview neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 7600 block of Sweetbrier Way, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities reported that a physical altercation happened prior to the gunfire. Blackwell was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Another individual involved in the incident went to the hospital on his own and was reported to be in stable condition by Monday morning.

Sacramento Police have indicated that the fight preceding the shooting is a central focus of their investigation. No suspect information has been disclosed at this time, and the case remains active.
