Fatal Woodland Hills home invasion death of Aleksandre Modebadze – Obituary
Aleksandre Modebadze, 47, lost his life during a violent home invasion early Saturday morning in Woodland Hills, California.
Around 1 a.m., authorities say three individuals forced their way into a residence located on the 22200 block of De La Osa Street, near Topanga Canyon Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the intruders restrained and assaulted Modebadze inside his home, resulting in fatal head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspects, identified as Paata Kochyashvili, 38; Zaza Otarashvili, 46; and Besiki Khutsishvili, 52, were arrested later the same day. Police say the trio took unspecified property from the residence before fleeing.
Kochyashvili was apprehended near Sepulveda and Burbank boulevards, while Otarashvili and Khutsishvili were found on Burchett Street in Glendale. All three men are charged with murder under special circumstances for committing the homicide during a robbery.
Additional charges include multiple counts of first-degree robbery and burglary. Kochyashvili also faces charges for false imprisonment and attempting to intimidate a witness through force or threats.
The suspects appeared in court Tuesday, though their arraignment has been postponed until May 21. They are being held without bail as the investigation continues.
