Jeferson Alas Nebab, aged 36, lost his life in a tragic collision between a van and a truck near Bunnythorpe on April 9. The accident occurred at the intersection of Newbury Line and Te Ngaio Road, just outside Palmerston North.

Nebab, who was driving the van at the time, died at the scene. The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Nebab was a resident of Raumati South in Kāpiti, and his death has deeply affected his community.
