Fatal Weld County crash death of Christine Ann Schwarz – Obituary

Christine Ann Schwarz, 57, of Mead, tragically lost her life in a head-on collision on Highway 85 in Platteville on Wednesday. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. when a GMC Yukon crossed into oncoming traffic, striking Schwarz’s Toyota 4Runner.

Schwarz, a beloved seventh-grade science teacher at La Salle North Valley Middle School, was remembered by the community following her death. The crash also resulted in a fire, and despite the efforts of emergency responders, Schwarz, along with the other two occupants, died at the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation, with possible ties to a prior pursuit by Weld County deputies of a stolen vehicle. The crash has deeply affected the school community, leading to the cancellation of classes and an outpouring of grief from students and staff alike.
