The Merced County Sheriff’s Office has identified 24-year-old Angel Ramirez as the victim of a tragic shooting that took place on March 22, 2025, in Winton, California. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Bobbi Avenue, where authorities responded to reports of a man bleeding in front of a home.
Ramirez was found with a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead. The shooting took place during a gathering at the residence, with both the suspect and victim being present at the time.
Following the shooting, a 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder, while 20-year-old Jerardo Ochoa-Aguilar, also from Winton, was taken into custody on suspicion of being an accessory to murder. The motive behind the fatal incident is still under investigation.
