A tragic wrong-way crash early Monday morning on the North Freeway in Houston resulted in the deaths of Brittany Munive, 33, and her 9-year-old son, DJ Munive, while critically injuring the husband and daughter. The family was returning home from a softball tournament when their Mitsubishi Outlander collided head-on with a red Ford F-150, which was traveling in the wrong direction.
Brittany was driving, and police reported the crash occurred just after 12:45 a.m. Her husband, Dario Munive, and their 10-year-old daughter, Mila, are in critical condition. The driver of the F-150, Michael Anthony Arguijo, 46, was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He was also hospitalized in critical condition.
The family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses and long-term medical care for the survivors. The crash is under investigation, and police continue to urge the public to avoid impaired driving to prevent further tragedies.
