Fatal Port St. Lucie motorcycle crash death of 22-year-old Matthew Beddome – Obituary

A Port St. Lucie man, 22-year-old Matthew Beddome, tragically died Monday night after his motorcycle collided with a Toyota Camry. The crash occurred at the intersection of Northwest St. James Drive and Northwest St. James Boulevard around 8:35 p.m.

According to the police, Beddome was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle south on Northwest St. James Drive when a Toyota, driven by a 47-year-old woman, turned left onto Northwest St. James Boulevard directly into the path of the motorcycle. The bike struck the right rear of the Toyota, causing Beddome to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Beddome was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota was not injured. Preliminary findings suggest that the Toyota may have violated the motorcycle’s right-of-way, though investigations are ongoing to determine the full details of the crash. Speed and impairment do not appear to have played a role in the incident.
