A deadly shooting occurred early Saturday morning at McCabe’s Bar in DeLand, Florida, following a fistfight that escalated into violence. The DeLand Police Department is currently investigating the incident, which left one man dead and a bartender injured.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., law enforcement officers responded to reports of gunshots at the bar on N Amelia Avenue. Witnesses told police that a fight broke out among several men inside the establishment. During the altercation, one individual drew a firearm and began shooting.
Keshod Harris, a 32-year-old DeLand resident, was struck multiple times in the chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A bartender, also injured in the incident, was shot in both hands but is expected to recover from non-life-threatening wounds.
