Fatal Charlotte hit-and-run crash death of Aleki Langi – Obituary

Eighteen-year-old Elder Aleki Langi lost his life Thursday evening in Charlotte, North Carolina, after being struck in a hit-and-run incident while riding his bicycle.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reported that Langi was hit by a vehicle that had veered off Beatties Ford Road and onto the sidewalk. A second missionary suffered only minor injuries in the same incident.

Eyewitnesses stated the two missionaries were biking when the car swerved and hit them. Authorities said the driver fled the scene after the collision and has not been publicly identified.
