David Chuyeshkov dies in fatal Seattle shooting
Fatal Seattle shooting death of David Chuyeshkov – Obituary
David Chuyeshkov, 40, tragically lost his life early Wednesday morning inside an apartment building in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. The King County Medical Examiner confirmed that he succumbed to a gunshot wound to the torso inside the Tuscany Apartments. Police are continuing their investigation into the homicide, though they have not released further details due to the ongoing case.
Emergency responders were called to the scene at around 1:45 AM following reports of gunfire and a person shouting for someone to call 911. Officers arrived to find Chuyeshkov lying inside his apartment, reportedly with a gunshot wound to his back. Witnesses stated that a man fled the scene, described as a black male dressed in all black and carrying a bicycle.
Authorities checked nearby hospitals for any injured suspects or victims, though no one else was found to be hurt. A person with a minor gunshot wound was also reported at the scene but was not confirmed by Seattle Police.
Residents of the building had previously raised concerns about drug-related activities in the area. Chuyeshkov himself had a criminal history, including multiple warrants.
In a recent case from November, he faced charges including unlawful firearm possession, drug offenses, and possession of a stolen vehicle after being caught with methamphetamine and a handgun.
He had been difficult to track down by authorities, with a history of evading arrest, including an incident in January where he removed his electronic monitoring device shortly after it was applied.
The Seattle Police Department is urging anyone with information about the case to contact their Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
