Authorities have confirmed that the body found in the Tennessee River near the Hudson Memorial Bridge in Decatur is that of 66-year-old Thomas Wade Dugger. The discovery followed reports from a witness who claimed to have seen someone jump from the bridge into the water on Wednesday.

Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn stated that Dugger’s body was located around 11:45 a.m. during a coordinated search effort involving multiple agencies. His family has since been informed of the recovery.

The extensive search began Wednesday evening and spanned several days before concluding with the recovery of Dugger’s remains.
