Fatal West Babylon car crash death of Bella Trezza and Riley Goot – Obituary

The West Babylon community came together in grief and remembrance as they honored Bella Trezza, 17, and Riley Goot, 18, during a memorial baseball game months after the tragic car crash that claimed their lives.

The emotional event was held in West Babylon, Long Island, and brought together students and families from both West Babylon High School and St. Anthony’s High School. A moment of silence was observed before the game, which served not just as a tribute to the two teenagers who died, but also to celebrate the survival of their friends.

One of the survivors, 17-year-old Anthony Pagliuca from St. Anthony’s, threw the first pitch of the game, joined by fellow crash survivors Kyle Murphy and Austin Trezza. Pagliuca, who suffered severe injuries in the crash, including multiple neck, pelvis, and internal fractures, expressed his amazement at being able to stand on the field.

The fatal crash occurred in September 2024 when a group of teens was returning from a party. Police reported that another driver ran a red light and struck their car. Bella Trezza and Riley Goot died from the impact, while Pagliuca and the others were critically injured.

Donations were collected during the game to support the victims’ families, and the memory of Bella and Riley was kept alive not only through remembrance but also through action. Bella’s donated organs reportedly helped save three lives.

Pagliuca, affectionately called “Pags,” continues to recover and live with short-term memory issues. He shared that he is motivated by the memory of his late friends and is planning to study sports management at SUNY Oneonta, with hopes of playing club baseball in college.
