Daniel Abbott dies in fatal Warsaw car crash

Fatal Warsaw car crash death of Daniel Abbott – Obituary

Daniel Abbott, 48, of Lancaster, tragically died Friday morning in a devastating head-on crash near the border of Warsaw and Orangeville, authorities confirmed. The collision occurred after a vehicle, reportedly stolen from Nassau County, fled police and struck the car Abbott was riding in.

Around 8:20 a.m., the stolen vehicle, driven by 19-year-old Sanny Dewan of Buffalo, failed to stop for law enforcement and attempted to flee along State Route 20A. Dewan lost control while navigating a curve and collided directly with the car carrying Abbott.

Abbott, a passenger in the struck vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the crash. The driver, James Stablewski of East Aurora, was transported to ECMC and is reported to be in stable condition.

The stolen vehicle burst into flames and landed in a ditch following the impact. Dewan was later pronounced dead after life-saving efforts failed. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
