Fatal St. Louis car crash death of Corey McBride – Obituary

Corey McBride, a longtime firefighter with the St. Louis Fire Department, tragically lost his life in a car crash late Saturday night. He was 40 years old and had dedicated nearly two decades of service to the department.

 

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Whittier Street, which lies between the Ville and Vandeventer neighborhoods. McBride was driving a black Jeep Wrangler when he attempted to overtake a gray Chrysler 300. As McBride attempted the pass, the driver of the Chrysler attempted to make a left turn onto Whittier Street, resulting in a collision.

 

After the crash, the driver of the Chrysler fled the scene but later surrendered to authorities. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

 

In a statement, the St. Louis Fire Department expressed deep sorrow over McBride’s death, emphasizing his many years of dedicated service to the community. They asked for the public to keep McBride’s family and loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time.

 

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
