Bryce Tomlinson, a 21-year-old Fresno resident, has been identified as the motorcyclist who lost his life in a tragic collision involving a truck late Friday night in Fresno. Authorities from the Fresno County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity on Monday.

The accident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Maroa and Fedora avenues. Emergency crews, including the Fresno Fire Department’s water rescue team, responded and found Tomlinson submerged in a nearby canal following the crash. He was pulled from the water and rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, the crash happened as Tomlinson was riding his motorcycle north on Maroa Avenue. Witnesses said he veered into the southbound lane, attempting to pass other vehicles, and struck a truck that was in the process of making a U-turn from Fedora Avenue.

The truck’s driver, a 44-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police spokesperson Trueba Vega noted that the incident remains under active investigation and the exact circumstances leading to the crash have yet to be determined.

Tomlinson graduated from Clovis North High School in 2019 and was attending Fresno City College at the time of his death. He was employed at Whole Foods. A candlelight vigil was held in his memory on Saturday evening at the crash site, where mourners left flowers and photos near the canal.
