Josiah Slocum, 19, of Montgomery, was fatally shot over the weekend in what has become one of three homicides reported in the city within a four-day span. Authorities confirmed Slocum’s identity on Monday following the deadly incident.

Emergency responders were called to a local hospital at approximately 2:50 a.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, medics and officers learned that Slocum had already been pronounced dead.

Montgomery police stated that the shooting occurred near Davis Drive, though no further information has been released regarding the events leading up to the killing.

Slocum’s death marks the 23rd homicide in Montgomery so far this year. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with details to come forward.
